You may browse public articles, general statistics, and embedded practice questions without creating an account. When you visit the site, our web servers automatically process standard connection details — such as your IP address and browser type — solely to deliver content securely and maintain site integrity.
1.2 Account Registration
Accounts may be created via “Continue with Google” or through our email/password registration (secured by Google reCAPTCHA). If you sign in using Google, we receive only the information you authorize on Google’s consent screen: your email address, name, and a unique Google account identifier. We do not receive your Google password or access to your external Google data.
1.3 Profile Information
Upon registration, we generate a secure user account. To protect your privacy, your real name is never displayed publicly; profiles default to an anonymous identifier (e.g., “User CE-8F2K1”) unless you explicitly choose to update your display name, bio, avatar, or timezone in your account settings. You may also configure whether your performance statistics appear on public leaderboards.
1.4 Exam and Activity Data
When you participate in practice assessments, we record your attempts, answers, and scores to generate your personal performance history and aggregate site analytics.
2. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use essential cookies strictly necessary for core platform functionality, along with limited analytics cookies that help us understand how visitors use the site. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.

- Google Analytics — helps us understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, time on site, device/browser type) so we can improve the platform (governed by Google’s Privacy Policy). We do not use Google Analytics to personally identify you.
- jsDelivr (CDN) — delivers standard frontend styling and script libraries securely.

We process collected information exclusively to:
- Authenticate users and maintain session security.
- Display personal exam performance history and optional public profile statistics.
- Protect the platform against brute-force attacks and unauthorized access.
- Operate, maintain, and improve platform performance.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to outside parties. We disclose data only when required by law or to protect our legal rights.
6. Data Retention and Security
We retain your account and activity data for as long as your account remains active to provide ongoing access to your historical performance. We employ industry-standard technical and administrative security measures — including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and secure password hashing — to safeguard your information.
7. Your Choices and Rights
- Profile Management: You may update your profile information, display name, and preferences at any time through your account settings.
- Account Deletion: You may permanently delete your account by selecting “Delete My Account” on your Profile page. Deletion requests enter a 30-day grace period during which you may log in to cancel the request and restore your account. Once the grace period expires, your account and personal data are permanently removed. Previously submitted test attempts or anonymized platform contributions are dissociated from your identity and retained only in aggregate or anonymized form.
- Google Access: You can revoke platform access at any time via your Google Account Permissions.
- Data Rights: You have the right to access, correct, or object to the processing of your personal data by contacting support@cereview.com. For users located in the Philippines, these rights are protected under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).
8. Children’s Privacy
CE Review is intended for engineering students and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13.
